Full-Time MBA

Teamwork

As a part of orientation's team facilitation seminar, you will be assigned to a permanent, four-member team. Personality type, gender, age, work experience, verbal and quantitative aptitudes, undergraduate degree, and nationality are all considered when team assignments are made. Recognize that your team assignment is designed to be challenging. We learn most from conflict and differences, not harmony and uniformity. Problems are most often the impetus for change and growth.

The challenge the Terry MBA Program issues each group of four people is to transform themselves into a high-performing team. You and your team will experience what that is like on the UGA Ropes Course, the Outdoor Adventure that concludes orientation. Other opportunities for practice abound: you and your team will work together on class assignments and cases, projects, presentations, and the capstone integrative exercise at the end of the second semester.

The permanent teams of 11-month students, formally together for only one semester, typically ratchet up team performance even more quickly, due to the intense academic challenge of the summer semester.
