Tomorrow's business leaders must be grounded in business knowledge, while equipped with superior interpersonal and leadership skills.

Team Facilitation
This 12-hour seminar builds self-awareness and skills in team processes and communication. Students process their Myers-Briggs Type IndicatorTM results with teammates, analyze team strengths, anticipate and plan for conflict, and write a team contract. They participate in a variety of exercises to increase their ability to recognize why and how teams succeed and fail and what role individual team members play in those situations. The MBA Challenge, facilitated at the UGA Ropes Course, concludes the seminar.
The MBA Challenge at the UGA Ropes Course
This full day adventure at the Oconee Forest Park on UGA's ropes course is a transformational experience unifying your team and entire MBA class. Interpersonal skills are put to the test as MBA teams practice teamwork, communicating, creative problem-solving, personal challenge, trust, and risk-taking.
Image & Presence
This workshop addresses the key elements of projecting a professional image, confidence, and authority, including the impact of first impressions. Messaging regarding proper attire and the common things that sabotage a professional image, such as body language and other nonverbal communications, are also taught. Students provide and receive feedback on their personal image while learning to effectively shape their image to meet the expectations of future employers and clients.
Business Etiquette
The simplest of concepts is often where one struggles the most. Knowing how to carry on a polite conversation, being able to introduce people properly, and being aware of the simple rules of courtesy are prerequisites to succeeding in business. Students learn how to handle themselves by being put in a variety of situations, from making a new acquaintance to navigating a cocktail party or a six-course meal. Good manners are not only a part of good leadership, but can set you apart from the competition.
PowerHouse Presenting
This two-part workshop covers how to organize presentations, polish presentation style, build rapport with prospects and audiences, match audiovisuals to message, and overcome public speaking fears. During the second part of the workshop, MBA teams meet individually with the trainer, so that each team member can make a five-minute presentation and receive feedback, personalized coaching, and recommendations from the trainer.
Me, Inc.
This workshop challenges students to take ownership of their personal brand and recognize that their successes or failures ultimately depend on their ability to communicate, present, and promote themselves. Through a series of exercises, students complete a positioning profile that becomes a powerful tool for improving their ability to:
- Sell their ideas
- Motivate and lead others
- Build consensus and encourage teamwork
- Facilitate problem-solving
- Build stronger relationships
Institute for Leadership Advancement (ILA) Executive Lecture Series
