Personal Leadership Development Plan (PLDP)

The Personal Leadership Development Plan (PLDP) is a product of the personal leadership coaching experience. The purpose of the PLDP is to assist you with organizing and interpreting the information you have acquired about yourself through various assessments, class discussions, team experiences, and feedback. It reflects your overall understanding of:

  • Who you are (interests, preferences, learning, and communication styles)
  • What you value (rewards, recognition, time, relationships)
  • What you aim for in life (family, career, personal)

With this understanding, you then identify specific targets for personal and professional growth. Students are encouraged to target skills in the leadership areas that the Terry MBA Program emphasizes:

  • Self-Awareness
  • Social Influence Skills
  • Communication Skills

In the past, students have chosen to focus on assertiveness, anger management, networking skills, conflict management, public speaking, and delegation skills. Ultimately, you will choose to focus on an area that will be most useful in your career and personal life.

The PLDP builds a solid, rewarding relationship between you and your personal leadership coach.
