Leadership Courses

Why Would Anyone Follow YOU?

Terry MBAs discover the answer to this question. Throughout their experience at Terry, MBA students immerse themselves in two leadership courses: Leadership & Career Development, a 1 credit course, taken each semester and the Organizational Behavior and Leadership course taken in the first year. As a result of these courses, you will develop a Personal Leadership Development Plan (PLDP), a documented self-analysis with a detailed plan for your leadership growth.

The Leadership and Career Development course provides the foundation for leadership knowledge, focusing on self-awareness and leadership competencies including power, social influence, personal stress management, motivating others, and conflict management. The course will also focus on career development, an important aspect shaping your leadership style in your chosen profession. You will utilize the following assessment tools:

  • Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
  • Learning Style Inventory
  • Strength Deployment Inventory
  • Emotional Intelligence

The Organizational Behavior and Leadership course provides insight into the organizational life cycle and equips you to discern the leadership styles ideally suited to each phase. You will also explore the variety of human behavior and relationships found in business organizations, while reflecting on your role on a team and as a leader.
