The combination of advanced business knowledge with a law degree can be a powerful combination for success for those interested in pursuing particular career paths, such as mergers and acquisitions, wealth management, corporate law, securities law, even managing a law firm. The JD/MBA joint degree program enables students to reduce the time it takes to acquire these degrees from five to four years.
Candidates for the joint program must make separate applications to the UGA Law School and to the Terry MBA Program and be admitted by both. Typically, students will spend their first year in the law school, followed by a second year doing the core coursework of the MBA program. During the third and fourth years, students are jointly enrolled in both programs to complete their degree requirements. Below is the joint program curriculum.
