General Information
At Terry, we want to make a difference in your career and in your life. We intend to do this by developing you as a leader. Primary objectives of the Terry MBA Program are:
- To provide the solid, substantive business knowledge and technical skills expected of MBAs in the marketplace.
- To assiste with developing specific leadership competencies essential for navigating one's desired career path.
Effective leadership in business mandates advanced cognitive abilities — the skills to comprehend, apply, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate business problems and solutions. The first year core curriculum, comprising 26 credit hours of required coursework and six credit hours of electives, provides a solid foundation for the global business environment. The second year consists of 11 credit hours of required coursework and 18 credit hours of electives. Students select electives based on their chosen business concentration. Up to six credit hours of electives may be taken outside of the declared business concentration.
When you graduate with a Terry MBA, you will have gained a lasting competitive advantage: the business knowledge and critical leadership skills that distinguish you from other MBAs over the course of your career and, more importantly, that add meaning and personal satisfaction to your life.
Eligibility and Prerequisites
The two-year MBA program is designed for those possessing a baccalaureate degree in any field, including business. Applicants are expected to have at least two years of full-time, post-baccalaureate work experience prior to applying to the program. The program involves four semesters of full-time study with fall semester admission only. While no prior business coursework is required, it is often advantageous for incoming students to acquaint themselves with several functional areas of business prior to enrollment. Students in past years have benefited most from introductory coursework in accounting, statistics, finance, and economics.
A solid foundation in math will be needed to be successful in the program. This will require you to assess your quantitative background and, if you feel it is necessary, to prepare yourself for the program by taking a business math course.
The structure of the program with a lot of teamwork, along with the coaching experience and the caliber of the faculty really drew me in."
