Optional International Experience
The Fast Track Professional MBA offers an optional international residency as an elective during the second year of the program. The overseas trip is faculty led and provides students with first-hand exposure to international business practices and culture. The trip will be approximately nine days in length and will take place in late April of the second year. In recent years, students have taken trips to China and South America. The costs associated with the international trip are not included in the tuition for the program; however, student loans are available to fund the cost of the trip.
Financial Aid
A variety of resources are available to help you meet the financial obligation. More than two-thirds of Fast Track Professional MBA students take advantage of federal and /or private student loan programs.
- The University of Georgia Office of Student Financial Aid is equipped to provide up-to-date information on financial assistance available to professional MBA students via federal loan programs. Please visit the department website or contact Robert Tucker, UGA Student Financial Aid Loan Director at rtucker@uga.edu. The first step to apply for federal student loans is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) form. You may complete this form as soon as you apply to the program, but loan eligibility will be determined only after you have been accepted by the University of Georgia Graduate School. Please note that federal loans are available to U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents only.
- In addition to UGA’s Office of Student Financial Aid, the Official GMAT Web Site features an array of information about financing your MBA via various public and private funding sources.
- Please note that Fast Track Professional MBA candidates must be fully admitted by the UGA Graduate School before loans may be awarded. Therefore, late applicants may be in jeopardy of not receiving funding to cover the first program fee installment.
Scholarships
The Fast Track Professional MBA Program offers a very limited number of merit-based scholarship awards for select candidates based on academic achievement (strength of undergraduate grade point average and GMAT or GRE.) A complete Fast Track Professional MBA application is required for candidates to be eligible for award consideration. Awards selection is highly competitive and preference will be given to candidates who submit a complete application by April 1. No additional paperwork is required.
