Requirements and Criteria
The Terry College of Business Executive MBA program is designed to meet the needs of working professionals interested in developing the skills and perspectives required as they assume positions of increasing managerial responsibility within their organizations. You stand to gain most from the program if you have demonstrated significant leadership capability, and if you show the potential for further development. You should be prepared to actively participate in a highly engaging and interactive educational experience, and you can expect to apply what you learn to the business opportunities and challenges faced by your organization.
Admission to the Terry College of Business Executive MBA program is highly selective. In general, a bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited institution of higher learning is required for admission. A minimum of five years of relevant, full-time work experience is expected. In addition, several general issues are considered in evaluating your qualifications.
- Do you have the perspective, the intellectual capacity, and the drive and discipline to successfully complete all program requirements?
- Will the program content add significant value, given your current position in the organization and your potential for future growth?
- Will your experience and expertise add to the educational experience of other participants in the program, and are you motivated to share these strengths with others?
As such, your qualifications for the program are determined by a combination of your academic and professional accomplishments, and by an assessment of both how the program will contribute to your professional development, and how you will contribute to the group with whom you share the program.
The following items are required for consideration in the Executive MBA program.
- A completed application form as well as written essays articulating your qualifications and motivation for pursuing advanced education.
- Official transcripts from all educational institutions that you have attended previously. Please send sealed, official transcripts to:

The next Terry Executive MBA class begins in September 2010 and the application deadline is June 30. The class is limited in size to roughly 50 participants so early applications are strongly encouraged.
Distance Learning Technologies
Content delivery in the Executive MBA program involves a mix of traditional classroom instruction and distance learning.
Classroom interaction allows participants to take advantage of the collective experience of the group to better understand how business concepts and principles can be applied to real-world settings.
The use of distance learning technologies reduces the amount of face-to-face class time in the program, thereby providing participants with additional flexibility to learn at a time and place that is most convenient for them.
